It seems Barack Obama keeps inspiring musicians all over the US.
Will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas just released this music video called “Yes we Can”
Says an article on ABC News, the video is inspired by Obama’s victory speech after his victory in the New Hampshire primary
Features by Scarlett Johansson, John Legend, Kate Walsh, and lots of other celebrities French people don’t know about.
Apparently the video was made without Obama knowing, or consent, which reminded me of that other videos by “Obama girl”
and the sequel Obama vs Giuliani (avant que giuliani se retire de la course aux primaires)
(both through barely political)
The question is : do those videos help or hurt Obama’s campaign? Although I think the “obama girl” videos didn’t do any good, I’m not sure about the will.i.am song. It could either be seen as a “Aaargh those fucking democcrats always with the Hollywood crowd” or be a “get up and vote young people” kind of song.
Either way, just a few more fun videos from the US presidential campaigns which I think are still way more inventive than ours!

Pour la vidéo de will.i.am je me posais la même question. Perso, je dirais que ça n’a aucun impact : ça n’est surement pas une chanson qui me pousserait à aller voter pour tel ou tel. A mon avis les démo trouvent ça génial et les rép très nazes, point.
Par contre j’ai essayé d’imaginer la même chose en France : Didier Barbelivien mettant en musique un discours de Sarko… Tout de suite ça a moins de gueule et tout de suite j’ai envie de voter pour Ségo…

La video par Will.i.am a ete approuvee apres coup par Obama puisqu’il l’a mis sur son site, elle etait en page d’accueil lundi soir avant les primaires. Il doit donc penser qu’elle est bonne pour son image.
